  • Read in Bhabanath Institution (for Girls), Rahara from Class – V to Class XII.
  • Passed B.A. from Calcutta University.
  • Passed M.A. from Rabindra Bharati University.
  • Passed Mass Communication & Journalism from Cygnas.
  • Worked in different Print and Electronic Media.


  • From very early age she got her primary lesson of dance from her mother, once a famous dancer, Smt. Amita Ghosh.
  • At her 5 years she was admitted to Kalangan, Sodepur for Bharat Natyam and Creative Dance under Guru Shri Manik Poddar.
  • At her 13 years for few months she was under Guru Debabrata Chakraborty.
  • She had to practise 3 hours daily under her mother’s guidance.
  • When she was in late 13 she appeared for admission test in Kolkata, Kalamandalam. Guru P.Govindan Kutty and Guru Smt. Thankamani Kutty selected her to get admission and began her new life. For a long time of 18 years she learnt Bharat Natyam under Guru P.Govindan Kutty and Guru Smt. Thankamani Kutty and got Certificate from Calcutta Kalamandalam..
  • As per advice of Guru Smt. Thankamani Kutty, she established the Dance School, Nrityangan. It was started with very few numbers of students. Today we proudly claim to have grown from an insignificant acorn to a sturdy oak with her proper teaching of Bharat Natyam and Classical based Creative Dance.
